On October 19th, 2024, I had the privilege of attending a seminar focused on the role of caregivers in relation to service users, covering key topics such as communication, personal care, competence, personal development, duty of care, policies and procedures, equity and diversity, and safeguarding. The seminar also addressed the use of tools like the ABC Chart, incident book, and the importance of thorough documentation. It significantly enhanced my knowledge and practical skills in the workplace. The session was clear, engaging, and highly informative.

The most impactful aspect for me was the ‘Interview Preparation’ segment. I learned the importance of familiarizing myself with common interview questions and approaching them with confidence and composure. Additionally, I gained valuable insights on how to effectively present my experiences in a practical way. Researching the company’s core values and understanding their requirements for the role was also emphasized, allowing me to tailor my responses accordingly. This knowledge has greatly enhanced my approach to interviews.
I was opportune to be part of the training on Saturday, 19th September 2024. It was my first time attending any care-related training, and I have my wife to thank for sharing the link with me. It incredibly impactful, but I’ll highlight a few key takeaways.
